The ‘Mysore Style’ method is named after the city in India where our teacher Sarath Ragaswamy lives and teaches, continuing this teaching style from his grandfather Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
Mysore is the most traditional way of learning Ashtanga Yoga. It is also the most intimate, personal and developed way of practicing yoga. This class is suitable for students of all levels. No previous yoga experience is necessary. Beginners and more seasoned students will receive all the instruction they need and will find themselves breaking through old physical, mental and emotional barriers.
It can be challenging, rigorous and athletic, or slow and gentle, depending on the need of the student.
It is perhaps the only way that the more advanced asanas or postures can be learned safely, with proper skill and dedication.
